New York schools are now closed through the Summer, with the directive that Summer school will be done through remote learning activities. Inspire Kids Preschool will continue remote learning activities and therapy supports through June 19. Normal school break will follow until July 6. We will have information on Summer session before that date. We are preparing to resum e face-to-face visits in our Developmental Disabilities Clinic (Article 16 Clinic) soon, particularly for those patients whose careplans require this, including Psychology testing. To enhance the protection of the employees and patients who will be on site, we are implementing a Health and Safety Plan that will require daily employee health checks, use of PPE, and expanded cleaning. We are committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and patients. OPWDD has released information on an interim service model for Community Habilitation, Day Habilitation and PreVocational Supports that would require some adjustment and flexibility for Inspire to access. We are actively reviewing this model and will make a decision soon. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Deb Lynch, our Student Services Coordinator who had been with Inspire since 1998. We extend our condolences to her family and friends, and realize we are among thousands mourning loss a this time. We know that the work we do is important and necessary under “normal” conditions, and that the work being done now raises all of us to new levels. We’re pretty sure that we’re building a new “normal” but we’re not really sure what it will look like. Old normal or new, we have a commitment to bring Inspire through. Today, Inspire provides a wide array of outpatient, educational, and support service for individuals of all ages and abilities and for the general public.
